Amba Operations GmbH is a full-service provider for charging infrastructure based in Munich. For the past six years, the company has been planning, installing and operating charging stations in semi-public environments \u2013 <\/span>from small business sites to complex depot solutions.<\/span> With more than 2,500 charging points under management, Amba supports the professionalisation of electric mobility, combining strong technical expertise with a clear commitment to sustainability. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Challenge: rising energy costs and high administrative effort<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/h4>

As part of a client project in Nuremberg, Amba Operations faced the challenge of reducing operating costs for the charging infrastructure while making energy usage more efficient. Until then, electricity procurement was based on traditional fixed-price tariffs \u2014 resulting in high administrative workload and limited transparency.

A particular issue were the RLM-based demand charges: in larger installations, electrical power is continuously measured, and high load peaks directly lead to significantly higher costs. Amba was therefore looking for a solution that was economical, automated and fit for the future. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Solution: the reev Electricity Tariff \u2013 intelligently integrated into the reev Platform<\/span><\/b><\/h4>

Amba Operations decided to use the reev Electricity Tariff<\/a> for the customer project at the Nuremberg site. The dynamic tariff is based on the quarter-hourly electricity exchange prices and is controlled directly via the reev platform.<\/span><\/p>

Charging processes are automatically controlled via the integrated reev Energy Management System (EMS), which not only prevents costly load peaks but also adjusts the charging power to the current price situation.<\/p>

A prerequisite for using the reev Electricity Tariff is the installation of a smart meter (iMSys or RLM meter) that allows for quarter-hourly billing. This ensures that electricity is consumed precisely when it is available, cost-effective and particularly green \u2014 for example during periods when a high share of renewable energy is fed into the grid. <\/span><\/p>
