Wanderlust.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to organise a team retreat in 2020. Nevertheless, we didn’t want to miss out on a bit of joy, so we went on a short hike together, because an excursion in the fresh air is by far the best way to clear your head.
Virtual coffee break.
Unconventional break-times. Even before the official social restrictions during the Corona crisis, we moved things to the home office. ,We held the fort from home. But drinking coffee alone is only half as much fun. That’s why we regularly took coffee breaks together, so that we wouldn’t lose sight of each other.
Everyone pitches in.
We are taking off in Schwabing. Since the beginning of 2020, we have been in our new offices in one of Munich’s most beautiful districts. The Olympic Park is just around the corner and the English Garden is not far away either. Setting up furniture? No problem. Sometimes it just goes faster when everyone helps together. Our office is still a bit sparse – but we are looking forward to giving our space its own soul.
Cooking sessions.
Introduction to Iranian cuisine. We love good food. After pizza, Bavarian snacks and barbecue, Mehdi and Shahab introduced us to their local cuisine this time. We had gheime (stew with meat and yellow peas), mirza ghassemi (grilled aubergines with garlic, garlic, egg and garlic) and ghormeh sabzi (kale-coriander stew with red beans and meat). All served with rice and Iranian-style potato pancakes. A very special buffet.
Creative problem solving.
Piggybacking through the meeting. Sometimes joining meetings via TV is not mobile enough. In these cases, you have to think of something. The swivel chair taxi was quickly invented and Antonio can now be taken wherever the meeting takes us.
Biscuit baking.
Christmas without home-made biscuits? That’s just won’t do! That’s why we quickly rounded up a baking group and baked a huge pile of biscuits for our Christmas party. To celebrate, we had a Secret Santa gift exchange, punch & mulled wine and of course (quirky) singing. And as a special highlight, we got a dulcimer performance from our very own Susanne. The biscuits also tasted especially good.
Company mustard.
It’s delicious, it’s sexy and it’s super healthy. Once you mention that you can make your own mustard, you’ve got to organise a workshop. We spent an evening experimenting with lots of ingredients and after 2-4 weeks of maturing, we had jars of mustard just waiting to be eaten. It not only looks good, but also tastes good. And who has their own office mustard?
Team Retreat 2019.
Teambuilding in idyllic Finkenberg. Work must be rewarded. That’s why we had a wonderful weekend in beautiful Austria at the end of September. With a view of the mountains, we exchanged ideas and brainstormed on upcoming topics. We did yoga together, cooked, hiked (well…let’s say walked) and in the evening we played activities with a lot of enthusiasm. We are looking forward to the next time.
