Case Study – Migration Bungalowpark Eldorado

From EVBox to reev: a seamless transition to future-proof charging management

Ensuring reliable charging for holiday guests – from Everon to the reev Platform

Bungalowpark Eldorado, a family-run holiday park on the island of Texel in the Netherlands, was operating EVBox BusinessLine G3 and G4 charging stations connected to the Everon backend. When EVBox announced the discontinuation of Everon, the park faced an important decision. With more and more guests arriving in electric vehicles, reliable charging availability was becoming increasingly important.

Eldorado chose the reev Platform – not only because of its straightforward migration process, but also because of the clear benefits it brings to daily operations:

  • reliable charging,
  • a user-friendly platform for parking management and
  • seamless payment options for guests.

About Bungalowpark Eldorado

Bungalowpark Eldorado is a family-run holiday park located on the North Sea island of Texel in the Netherlands, just outside the popular coastal town of De Koog. Nestled on the edge of the island’s forest and only minutes from the beach, the park offers guests a peaceful setting surrounded by dunes, woodland and nature.

With spacious, well-equipped bungalows and a welcoming atmosphere, Eldorado combines privacy, comfort and a personal touch. The park has earned a reputation for offering families and holidaymakers a relaxing, high-quality stay on Texel.

Challenge: Keeping guest charging available without interruption

Eldorado faced the challenge of ensuring uninterrupted charging availability for its holiday guests while transitioning away from the Everon backend. The migration needed to be carried out without downtime or complex technical interventions, as a seamless guest experience was the top priority.

At the same time, the park wanted to make charging as convenient as possible by enabling ad-hoc payments via credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay – without requiring guests to register.

A smooth migration in three steps

The migration from EVBox Everon to the reev Platform was straightforward, supported by clear processes and expert guidance from reev. The entire switch could be carried out directly via the EVBox Everon portal and the EVBox installer application in three simple steps:

  1. Planning: Inventory of charging stations and users, including alignment on scope and requirements.
  2. Preparation: Firmware update and configuration via the EVBox Everon portal, combined with a short introduction to the reev Platform.
  3. Migration & Go-Live: The G3 stations were migrated directly via the EVBox Everon portal, while the G4 stations were migrated using the EVBox installer application. Both were then quickly brought online on the reev Platform, followed by a short validation and direct support from reev experts.
The result: A smooth transition with no interruptions to the charging process – made possible by the flexibility and reliability of the reev Platform.

Everyday efficiency thanks to the reev Platform

The migration not only kept Eldorado’s charging stations up and running, but also brought noticeable improvements to day-to-day operations. With the reev Platform, park management now benefits from a clear, user-friendly solution to monitor and manage all charging points centrally.

Automated billing and flexible payment options – from credit card to Apple Pay and Google Pay – allow guests to charge easily without registration. At the same time, Eldorado benefits from reduced administrative effort and lower operating costs.

Because the platform is hardware-agnostic, the existing EVBox stations could be integrated smoothly and can be expanded easily in the future – making the setup ready for what comes next.

Why reev?

Choosing reev gave Eldorado the confidence to complete the migration without disruption. The platform combines technical flexibility with an intuitive interface, making it a strong fit for a holiday park that wants to offer reliable and convenient charging for its guests.

reev’s extensive EMSP network was another decisive factor, ensuring that guests – especially from Germany – can continue using the charging cards they are already familiar with.

For us, it was essential to continue offering charging for our guests from Germany, who are the main users of our charging stations. We wanted them to be able to charge with the cards they already use and know from Germany – without interruptions and through a simple process. With reev, we found a solution that not only made the migration smooth, but also significantly reduced our daily effort.
