New funding program in the Netherlands for private charging infrastructure 2025

Financial support for private charging stations

In 2025, the Netherlands will introduce a new subsidy scheme for private charging infrastructure. This scheme, known as SPRILA (Subsidie Private Laadinfrastructuur bij bedrijven), is aimed at companies that want to install charging stations on their own or rented premises. The aim is to promote electromobility and expand the charging infrastructure network nationwide.

What does SPRILA funding cover?

The SPRILA subsidy supports both the purchase and installation of charging infrastructure.
The amount of funding depends on the size of the company and the type of charging station:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs): Up to 40% of the costs are reimbursed.
  • – Large companies: Up to 20 % of the costs are covered.
  • Battery storage subsidy: Available for locations with limited grid capacity.

Important changes in 2025

Compared to previous funding programs, several adjustments were made in 2025:

  • – Extended funding opportunities: Dual charging stations and charging stations with integrated battery storage are now also eligible for subsidies.
  • – Adjusted funding rates: SMEs receive 40%, large companies 20% of the eligible costs.
  • Obligation to use: Charging points and battery storage systems must be in operation for at least two years.
