Whether you are a charging station operator, specialist electrical company or sales and hardware partner – the reev energy and charging platform is the ideal solution for successfully integrating charging infrastructure into the energy and mobility ecosystem. Always with a focus on quality and simplicity.
Our applications have been developed for charging infrastructure operators so that they can easily offer charging services to their drivers and efficiently control and manage their charging stations. This applies, for example, to companies, housing associations or hotels and restaurants.
In addition, we provide applications for drivers of electric vehicles to enable them to charge easily.
We provide a cloud-based web application for the operation of charging stations: the reev dashboard. This user interface gives operators access to various functions for controlling and managing charging stations and charging processes.
You can find more detailed information here: www.reev.com/software
To enable others to charge via the reev dashboard, i.e. to offer charging services, you create charging offers. You can define almost all tariffs yourself and differentiate between the following five use cases:
1. regular charging – with billing
2. spontaneous loading – with billing
3. eRoaming – with billing
4. free charging – without billing
* Automated payment processing is handled by a payment service provider. Invoices are nevertheless issued in the name of the charging infrastructure operator.
** Charging processes carried out with an eRoaming charging card are remunerated to the operators at 29 ct/kWh plus VAT
The reev software can currently be used with charging stations from ABL, ABB, Mennekes, KEBA, Alfen, Alpitronic, Delta, Hager and Walther Werke. A detailed overview of all compatible hardware models can be found here.
The reev software can be purchased in different versions or licenses. Depending on the license, different functions and services are available in the reev dashboard, the online operator portal.
If you are in the first year of your minimum contract term, the offer covers the license costs for a further 24 months. Upgrades at a later date will be charged for a further 12 license months.
In accordance with our license model, your license is automatically extended by one year at the end of the current term. Please note that the term is generally unlimited. For ordinary termination, a written declaration, for example by e-mail, is required with a notice period of 3 months to the end of the current term. Further details can be found in the legal agreements and contractual conditions under Legal agreements.
The amount of the license fee depends on the number of charging connections (charging points).
In addition, there is a usage fee for the SIM card that is required per charging group (controller charging station) to communicate with the reev backend. If the backend connection is made via a LAN connection, this cost item does not apply.
An activation fee per charging station is charged for the upgrade.
The Compact software model specializes in precise monitoring of charging solutions across multiple locations. The licensing model makes it easy to manage an unlimited number of users.
In addition, access to the charging stations can be restricted so that only authorized drivers can start charging processes.
You can find all the functions included in Compact here.
The reev dashboard gives you access to the functions included in Pro. Numerous monitoring and management functions are available to you there. You can also use Pro to offer and bill charging processes for a fee. Billing takes place automatically via credit card or SEPA direct debit (registered drivers). You can see all the functions included in Pro here.
To upgrade from the Compact license to the Pro license, please fill out the following form. Our experts will then get in touch with you.
All charging stations that are managed within a reev dashboard must correspond to the same license type. It is not possible to mix different license types for individual charging groups.
1st request for employee charging
Stefanie would like to charge her e-car at work.
2. invitation
Stefanie’s employer sets up a charging offer for her in the reev dashboard and invites her to use the reev app.
3. charging via the app
After scanning the QR code on the wallbox, Stefanie can start, control and stop the charging process via the app.
4. view charging history
Consumption, cost or billing data can be viewed securely in the app at any time.
Operators of a smart reev charging station or users of such a station can use the reev app. The app is currently only compatible with charging stations with an installed and activated reev dashboard. To be able to use the app, drivers need an invitation from the operator of the charging station.
The reev app for drivers is free and available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for iOS and Android.
Home charging should be agreed with the employer in advance to ensure that costs are reimbursed.
Company car drivers then register using an online form. The following information is required: Address, contact details, electricity price (as well as proof of this, e.g. an electricity bill or the electricity contract). Once submitted, the information will be checked by the reev support team.
At the local electricity price at the place of residence. When registering, the driver enters the local electricity price and uploads proof (e.g. electricity bill, contract), which is then checked for authenticity.
Authentication takes place directly at the charging station, e.g. using an RFID-enabled employee ID card, the reev app or a separate RFID card.
In principle, the financing of company car charging at home must be agreed individually between the company car driver and the employer. The assumption of costs can also be generally formulated in a company eCar policy.
To ensure legally compliant billing, the hardware used must have an MID meter and be software-compatible. The charging station does not necessarily have to comply with calibration law. The reev software is compatible with all common hardware manufacturers and models. You can find a detailed list here.
Network reception must be ensured at the installation site, as the charging station communicates via SIM card. Contact an electrician who specializes in eMobility to commission you with the installation.
If the charging station meets the technical requirements, the reev software can also be retrofitted to an existing charging station at home. To do this, order a reev Connect Set (consisting of a setup kit and one or more license key(s)) to use the reev software.
Companies can use the company car charging at home feature within the reev Compact and reev Pro license. Company car drivers need the reev Pro license to use the feature at their home charging station.
Please contact the reev team at sales@reev.com. Please provide us with the names and e-mail addresses of the authorized company car drivers.
At the home charging station, private and business charging processes by company car drivers are recorded separately and according to consumption. Only charging processes with prior authentication appear on the receipt to the employer for reimbursement. Authentication methods are the reev app, RFID cards or RFID-enabled employee ID cards.

ensure consumption recording and legally compliant billing of charging processes. The access restriction must also be set up if the wallbox is installed in a closed garage and no other users (e.g. family members, neighbors) can charge at the charging station.
The access restriction can be set up by the reev support team.
The reimbursement of loading costs is a standard, tax-free reimbursement of expenses. No invoices or credit notes are issued between reev and the employees and/or reev and the company or employer for the reimbursement of charging costs. This means that employees do not become service providers (e.g. electricity sales). The electricity costs for the legally recorded business charging processes may therefore be reimbursed tax-free.
The specified contact person in the company receives the various receipts by e-mail each month.
Company car drivers also receive a monthly e-mail receipt about their own charging processes.
Yes. reev’s “charge your company car at home” solution is a tax-free reimbursement of business expenses based on a consumption-based receipt. The tax-free reimbursement is made directly between the employer and employee. No invoices or credit notes are issued between the electricity provider and employee and/or electricity provider and employer for the reimbursement of charging costs. This means that the employee does not provide any service by selling electricity. The electricity costs for the legally recorded business charging processes may therefore be reimbursed tax-free.
The employer receives a monthly digital receipt for all home charging transactions carried out for business purposes. The receipt serves as the basis for the tax-free reimbursement of expenses through the salary payment.
This procedure depends on whether the wallbox is a) owned by the company or b) owned by the employee. In principle, a company-specific regulation is recommended here, which can also be defined in an eCar policy if necessary.
In case a), for example, the employee can be paid off.
In case b), the wallbox remains the property of the employee after termination of the employment relationship.
Yes, with the reev Connect Set, the software can also be retrofitted to an already installed home charging station.
In principle, an access restriction must be set up at the charging station at home in order to ensure individual consumption recording and legally compliant billing. In the case of shared use of the home charging station, other users may also be authorized to charge at this station, e.g. partners, neighbors or guests. In this case, an authentication system coordinated with the employer is recommended.
Example:
This enables shared use with separate and accurate recording of charging processes. The employer is only charged the charging costs incurred by the company car driver for business-related charging processes.

To do this, you create a charging offer and activate it for all locations. Then assign the card including the consumer (driver or vehicle) to the charging offer.
Thanks to eRoaming, drivers have access to the charging stations of all CPOs with which their EMP has concluded a contract via an eRoaming platform. Access is via the provider’s app or charging card. Here you will find a complete list of all charging stations with reev software that can be used with eRoaming charging cards.
Scanning the QR code takes drivers to a mobile website where they can enter their credit card details for ad hoc billing of spontaneous charging processes.
The Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment ID, EVSE-ID for short, can be used to identify charging connections.
An EVSE ID consists of
The Power Outlet ID is created by the operator or by reev and consists of up to 30 alphanumeric characters.
