New Subsidy Program in the Netherlands for Private Charging Infrastructure 2025

Government Incentive to Boost Private EV Charging

In 2025, the Netherlands will introduce a new subsidy program to encourage the installation of private charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. This scheme, known as the Private Charging Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme for Businesses (SPRILA), aims to support entrepreneurs who want to install charging stations on their own or rented property. The goal is to accelerate the transition to electric mobility and expand the country’s charging network.

What Does the SPRILA Subsidy Cover?

The SPRILA subsidy provides financial support for both the purchase and installation of charging infrastructure. The reimbursement depends on the company size and the type of charging station.

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Can receive up to 40% of the costs covered.
  • Large companies: Are eligible for up to 20% of the costs.
  • Battery storage subsidy: Available for locations with limited grid capacity.

Key Changes in 2025

Compared to previous years, several changes have been introduced in the 2025 SPRILA program:

  • Expanded eligibility: Businesses can now receive subsidies for dual AC charging stations and charging stations with integrated battery storage.
  • Adjusted subsidy rates: SMEs get 40%, large companies 20% of eligible costs.
  • Usage commitment: Charging stations and storage batteries must be in use for at least two years.

The right software solution for charging stations allows for efficient energy management and helps reduce costs in the long run – for example, through load management that optimizes power consumption. Especially for privately used company cars, digital solutions simplify the billing of charging sessions and ensure full transparency.

The reev software solution supports multiple payment methods and enables an automated and secure billing process for all charging sessions at your stations. At the same time, the reev Balancer optimizes power distribution and prevents grid overloads.
